Sheffield Steelers have been offered a unique chance of signing Belfast Giants brothers Brett and Colin Hemingway.
The Canadians have offered their services to several Elite League clubs, providing food for thought for new Sheffield coach Ryan Finnerty.
Finnerty would not discuss the issue but he may be in the market of replacing Rob Globke, whose season was heavily influenced by injury last year, Joey Talbot, if he retires and maybe even Neil Clark.
Clark’s position provides an interesting case on its own. There were rumours he had signed a contract under former coach Ben Simon for the coming 2011-12 season.
But Finnerty - working with a reduced players’ budget - will doubtless have to chop Clark’s salary if he is to return - and that despite the fact he helped Steelers to the league championship. Both Globke and Clark spent their first year at Steelers twinning playing with University studying.
