SHEFFIELD Steeldogs are targeting four points against Basingstoke Bison this weekend and raise intensity levels as they head towards the Play-off Quarter-Finals in April.
Steeldogs are in Hampshire tomorrow and then back at iceSheffield to meet them again on Sunday (5.30pm).
Coach Andre Payette knows his side must beward of compaceny despite their 3-1 win ratio in the series against the Bison so far.
Steeldogs need wins to maintain EPL third position as Slough have a potentially easier weekend.
Payette said: “We’re facing a talented Basingstoke team. They are two very important games as Basingstoke are a potential play-off opponent.
“We need two wins to consolidate our league position in this penultimate weekend, as well as get into winning ways ready for next Wednesday’s Cup Final game in Guildford.”
Bison are in a battle for sixth and seventh place against a resurgent Swindon Wildcats, which will in turn throw up the possibility of three play-off opponents - Manchester, Slough and Sheffield, depending on those teams’ results over the next two weekends.
Games are always feisty against Bison. They have apower forward, Chris Wiggins, who matches Payette in penalty minutes.
