STEELERS admit they have some tinkering to do to make their defence water-tight.

Sheffield coaches have been trying for months to solidify their blue line, first after injury to Rod Sarich and then axeing Francis Trudel in favour of Nick Duff. But it’s still not as robust as it should be, admits bench coach Neil Abel.

“Our end zone coverage must get better,” he said. “That is where things have been breaking down. We give teams like Belfast and Nottingham too much respect and we’re making too many mistakes.

“We have the forwards to put the puck in the net, but we need to be more aggressive in our zone and quicker getting the puck out.”
