Andre: We won’t be outmuscled
Ice Hockey: Latest news, reports and more.
THERE haven’t been many occasions in Andre Payette’s 16-year career when his team have been physically mastered.
But the Sheffield Steeldogs player coach had to swallow the fact that Peterborough Phantoms strong-armed them in their last encounter.
That means revenge will be in the air when Steeldogs host them, tomorrow at iceSheffield (7.30pm). It is their sole match of the weekend, and it should be an uncomfortable experience for the visiting Peterborough Phantoms, who are next to bottom of the English Premier League.
Payette wasn’t happy with the manner of the treatment his team received in that bruising 5-2 loss on January 15 and this return game will see Steeldogs intent on taking a home win.
He said: “We went into Peterborough and were out-muscled and out-worked for the first time this year and this will not happen again.
“My team will be standing up for themselves. If Phantoms come at us in the same manner again it will be an ‘old time’ game of hockey.”
