A cracking 3-2 win for Steeldogs in Peterborough ended last weekend on a high note, putting Sheffield a step closer to a play-off spot.

After a lack-lustre performance by a short-benched team in a 5-1 loss in Milton Keynes the night before, the win was a confidence boost for the team. Coach Andre Payette said: “This was an awesome win for us and again, I was really proud of how the guys competed for the full 60 minutes, despite being short-benched’.

Steeldogs are back in action tonight at iceSheffield, (7.45pm) when Steve Moria’s Basingstoke Bison come into town in a Kids Go Free night. Steeldogs need to continue their momentum and gain some points from this game to fully confirm their play-off spot.

They have been putting in some solid performances recently against the Bison and will be looking to home-ice advantage to help them in their cause.

On Sunday, the goals came from Latvian forward Janis Ozolins, two, and Edgars Bebris.

Ozolins scored against MK.
