A storm is waiting for Lightning at iceSheffield

Sheffield Steeldogs host Milton Keynes Lightning on Sunday,(5.30pm) after gaining two points in a tense win on penalty shots in Bracknell last Sunday.

Steeldogs were missing coach Matt Darlow through flu though he will be aiming to be back this weekend, starting with a trip to Swindon tomorrow.

With Steeldogs lying in a play-off position, the pressure will be on the players to put some more clear water between them and the teams below.

Their cause was helped by a 9-1 midweek win by Slough over Bracknell, who had had a game in hand on Sheffield.

With three down and three to go in this season's series against the current fifth placed MK, Steeldogs hope to be at full strength to gain some revenge for the previous losses. Both teams have acquired new top players since their last confrontation, Steeldogs with hot-shot Janis Ozolins and experienced defenceman Steve Duncombe, while MK have signed a fifth import, last season's top scorer for Slough and highly rated forward, Blaz Emersic.

Steeldogs will also have Ryan Johnson back in the line-up following his recent stint with Steelers.

It's always a competitive game between these two teams, as like their name, MK are a fast skating side which should only add to the iceSheffield entertainment.
