THE two day Victor Chandler Christmas meeting kicks off at Doncaster racecourse tomorrow morning with a seven race card starting at 11.50am.

On Saturday afternoon, the event continues with a six race card starting at 12.30pm, which will feature the Victor Chandler Summit Juvenile Hurdle and the chance for race goers to throw some well-aimed arrows against darts legends Eric Bristow and Keith Deller, in between the race action.

The Juvenile Hurdle at 2.45pm will give race goers the chance to potentially watch some of the top hurdling stars of the future in action.

In previous years it has featured some outstanding juvenile hurdlers who have then gone on to run at the major festivals later in the season, and this year’s renewal looks to promise more of the same.

One that could be there or there about is Hinterland, trained by Champion Trainer Paul Nichols. Hinterland won at Auteuil Racecourse in France in May before winning for Nichols at Cheltenham last month.

Others to look out for include Kie, trained by the in-form Donald McCain and School for Scandal, which gave Tony McCoy a win recently, trained by Jim Best.

For tomorrow’s racing, entries include some visitors from over the Irish Sea, including one from both Paul Nolan, with Far Away So Close and Gerard Mullins, Celtic Wish, in the Novice Chase at 12.25pm.

In the National Hunt Novices Hurdle at 1pm, Nicky Henderson holds six entries and should find the right one to win the contest.

As tipped in this column previously, Sizing Europe was in devastating form at Sandown in the Sportingbet Tingle Creek last weekend.

Although Kauto Stone, half-brother to National Hunt legend Kauto Star, gave it a good go, Sizing was never in any major trouble and wrapped the win up nicely with eight lengths to spare.

No pre-registration is required for the darts’ competition at Doncaster on Saturday, and race day entry will give punters the chance to potentially test themselves against Eric and Keith.

We have some limited availability for our run of Christmas party nights along with our West End to Broadway New Year’s Eve Ball.
