Hawkesbury can book his ticket for All-Weather Championships Finals Day by claiming the 32RedSport.com Conditions Stakes at Kempton.

The six-furlong is the latest fast-track qualifier for the Good Friday fixture and Charlie Appleby’s Hawkesbury is a clear pick on official figures.

The Shamardal colt, who is out of Group One winner Nahoodh, boasts a rating of 104 which puts him 9lb ahead of his nearest rival and as the conditions of the race see all four run off level weights, Hawkesbury’s rivals have a lot to find.

Appleby’s runner chased home the classy Limato on his racecourse debut last June before scoring next time out at Doncaster, where he hammered subsequent Listed winner Russian Punch by seven lengths.

He had his excuses when beaten by Belardo next time out as he was lame the next day, but his attitude appeared to be the issue when beaten at Newmarket on his final start in October.

Hawkesbury gave himself no chance as he failed to settle at all that day and was beaten a length and half by possible Classic hopeful Fannaan.

The grey has not been seen since that defeat but he has been gelded in the interim and that looks a major positive for a horse who doubtless has more than a sliver of ability.

Bosstime can make it four wins on the bounce in the 32Red.com Handicap, despite lining up on his highest ever mark of 69.

John Holt seems to have found the key to the five-year-old after he failed to sparkle in his first four starts after transferring from the care of Michael Halford during the summer.

First-time blinkers worked the oracle as he opened his account over a mile at Kempton in December before he shrugged off a 4lb rise to make it a course-and-distance double.

Sent to Lingfield on New Year’s Eve, Bosstime made light of a 7lb hike to hit the target again, although he had to share the glory with Franco’s Secret in what was a blanket finish to a competitive little event.

While he will be saddled with an extra 2lb, he appeals as the type with a touch more still in the locker.
