Euro Charline had to settle for second behind Amazing Maria at Newmarket last year, but she can avenge that defeat in the Tattersalls 250th Year Falmouth Stakes.

The pair were separated by just a length in this Group One event in 2015, with Amazing Maria coming with a late burst to deny Euro Charline a second victory at the highest level following her Beverly D. success the previous year.

A repeat attempt at the Arlington feature last year failed to yield any joy and Marco Botti drew stumps with the five-year-old after finishing fifth in the Matron Stakes in September.

That decision to not plough on through international options in the autumn appears to have paid dividends this term, with Euro Charline twice being narrowly beaten in Dubai, including when just half a length off Real Steel in the Dubai Turf.

Given a short break to readjust after returning to Britain, Euro Charline served it up to Belardo, who had the benefit of two recent runs, when finishing second in the Lockinge at Newbury.

Belardo has since franked that form when just going down to Tepin at Royal Ascot and with the ground likely to be riding quick, Euro Charline has an excellent chance of landing a much-deserved first domestic Group One victory.

Bletchley was beaten just a head at the Royal meeting and can gain due compensation in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes.

Better known as the Cherry Hinton, this Group Two heat looks well within the compass of Ralph Beckett’s charge after she found Brave Anna just a short head too good in the Albany Stakes.

Fawaareq can bring up his hat-trick in the John Banks Infiniti Cambridge Handicap.
