The Pirate’s Queen might not be much of a price but she certainly looks the class act in today’s Betdaq Three Per Cent Commission Mares’ Maiden Hurdle at Doncaster.

She showed up well at Listed level on more than one occasion last term, prompting trainer Alan King to pitch her into Grade Two company.

The Pirate’s Queen came up short when third behind Blaklion but with that one having subsequently run well in similar company at Cheltenham, the form appears to be pretty decent.

Baile Anrai ran some excellent races last term and he is the pick in the Betdaq No Premium Charge Handicap Chase.

Placed in both the Rehearsal Chase and the Sky Bet Chase, Baile Anrai also picked up a nice prize at Fakenham back in March before running no sort of race in the Scottish National.

He raced close to the pace that day but was clearly struggling from some way out and can be forgiven that run as he had been on the go a fair while.

Baile Anrai should be suitably refreshed for this assignment and as he has run well at the track before, the Town Moor circuit clearly suits him.

Today’s Doncaster selections: 2.50 Guiding George, 1.20 Silver Duke, 1.50 Vide Cave, 2.20 THE PIRATE’S QUEEN (NAP), 2.50 Baile Anrai, 3.20 Paloma’s Prince, 3.50 Act Now.

* Captain Cat can secure his place on all-weather finals day next Easter by winning the Cash Out On The Betdaq+ App/EBF Stallions Hyde Stakes at Kempton tomorrow.

The one-mile affair is a fast-track qualifier for the main event on Good Friday, a race in which Captain Cat emerged victorious back in April.

That win prompted Roger Charlton to raise his sights with the Dylan Thomas gelding and he duly enjoyed a late summer campaign that yielded plenty of success in Group company.

While Captain Cat can do the business for Charlton at Kempton, Major Jack should also strike Lingfield gold for the Beckhampton handler.

The three-year-old hails from the family of the admirable Al Kazeem and although he is clearly short of that level, he has proved sharp enough to win two of his seven starts to date.
