Doncaster host a new raceday in the calendar this Saturday.
The feature is the Listed Bet365 Doncaster Stakes. With the ground drying out, conditions are expected to be ideal with good to firm the likely going on the day.
The Flat season is starting to kick into gear, and the likes of Champion jockey Richard Hughes, Paul Hanagan, Kieran Fallon and Ryan Moore will all hopefully be in action trying to get a good early start in the Flat jockeys championship.
The whole day is sponsored by Stoke bookmakers Bet365 and the action is programmed to begin at 1.50, with the next three races all being shown live on Channel 4.
Those three races are the Doncaster Mile, the bet365.com handicap, a Class 3 contest over a mile and a half and the bet365 handicap, a Class 2 over six furlongs.
As for meetings further down the line, entries have been made for the Punchestown Festival which begins on April 23.
Likely runners include Quevega, who would be going for her fourth World Series hurdle, plus various other top class horses such as Long Run, First Lieutenant and, most exciting of all, the quite brilliant Sprinter Sacre.
The Scottish National at Ayr is coming up on May 20, and could easily feature Grand National winner Auroras Encore, who was touched off in that race 12 months ago by the now retired Merigo.
