The action and entertainment at Doncaster Racecourse is unrelenting. Having enjoyed a magnificent doubleheader last week which culminated in a brilliant post racing gig with Texas, we now head into another meeting here this afternoon, with a seven race card getting underway at 2pm.
Last week, Richard Hannon struck with winners on Friday and Saturday, in the form of Pearl Charm and Wolfgang respectively. He bids for more success today when Numeral (2.00) and Kajima (3.35pm).
Last Saturday was also almost exclusively a night for favourites, which suited our punters down to the ground and might have left a few of the bookies smarting.
The atmosphere was certainly celebratory when Texas came on stage, with thousands revelling on into the night. We’re expecting more of the same when McFly come to play here after racing on Saturday, August 13.
On last Friday’s card, Little Jimmy Odsox bucked the favourites trend landing at 16/1 for Yorkshire’s Tim Easterby, perhaps paving the way for a good day at the office today for his Uncle Mick, who has three Jeer in the 4.45, who won last time out at Doncaster. However, this will be a much stiffer test.
All in all we’re looking forward to another bumper event.
And don’t forget, the countdown to the Ladbrokes St Leger Festival in September has now begun, with some enclosures already on the verge of selling out.
Tickets for racing and music with McFly are also in high demand and those who wish to attend should book in advance to avoid disappointment.
