DONCASTER Racecourse plays host to two exciting meetings this weekend.
There is an Irish-themed night on Friday, while on Saturday, racegoers can enjoy the build-up to the Investec Derby at Epsom with a quality programme on Town Moor.
The highlights on Saturday includes a valuable middle-distance conditions race for three-year-olds and a pair of handicap races over the straight mile (also for three-year-olds) and seven furlongs. All three races are supported by leading bookmaker, William Hill.
Racing on Friday evening begins at 6.05pm and the racing programme includes The Guinness Maiden Stakes, The Earl Of Doncaster Maiden Stakes, The Cryer & Scott Cheesemonger Handicap Stakes, The Stobart Group Handicap Stakes, The aricabeauracing.com Fillies’ Handicap Stakes and The Yorkshire Radio Handicap Stakes.
Saturday’s Derby Day meeting gets underway at 2.20pm and racegoers can see all of the action from Epsom - including the Investec Derby, which is due off at 4pm - on the big screen and television sets serving the enclosures.
The famous race may provide clues for the final classic of the season – The Ladbrokes St. Leger Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday, September 10.
A shuttle bus service will be in operation from the railway station.
