SHEFFIELDER Denise Sheasby is a sponsor at Doncaster racecours for the first time, a week today.

The 48-year-old businesswoman is part owner of Imperial Commander, the 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner.

Imperial Commander made a brilliant return last Saturday at Cheltenham after a 680-day absence through injury to finish runner-up to Cape Tribulation.

Denise runs Eventmasters Limited (corporate hospitality) and the event is named after her firm.

Denise, who also has horses training with Stan Moore, said: “We have a strong connection with Yorkshire. We have worked with York Racecourse for 20 years, including sponsoring at the Ebor Festival and also have significant links with Yorkshire Cricket Club. The opportunity to further develop our association with the region and Doncaster Racecourse is very welcome.”

Sheasby added, “We look forward to entertaining our guests against the backdrop of a competitive seven-race programme.”
