All systems are go here at Doncaster for the final meeting of the flat season and another exiting climax to the Jockey’s Championship at the Betfred November Handicap meeting.
As well as the championship showdown, the last big race of the season, the Betfred November Handicap, will be run at 3.10pm and there are 223 runners and competition will be fierce.
We’ve got great entries across the card and it’s sure to be an exhilarating day for the punters. Gates open at 11am and the first race at 12.50pm.
The race for the Jockey’s Championship has been lively in recent weeks with the gap between the two leading riders, Paul Hanagan and Silvestre de Sousa fluctuating.
When Paul won the Championship here last year everyone was unanimous in their praise for his achievements considering he was considered one of the ‘less fashionable’ riders, due to being based in the North.
To achieve the feat again this year will be equally, if not more of an achievement and will be reward for the tremendous effort that is required to travel the length and breadth of the country in search of winners.
Let’s hope that Paul is crowed Champion again here on Town Moor on Saturday.
With the Flat turf season drawing to a close all attention will switch to the National Hunt season which jumps off at Town Moor on November 25.
The ground staff are working extremely hard to ensure that the flat track is in great condition for the final event of the year but are also building fences and hurdles in readiness for the forthcoming jump season.
