DONCASTER Men’s Hockey opened their account in the North Conference of the National League with a resounding 7-2 victory over Belper.
The visitors succumbed to a home team onslaught led by the returning Joe Morrison and newcomers Matt Parker and Marcus Hooper.
The home team, who just missed out on promotion last season as well as finishing runners-up the English Hockey Association Cup, established a four goal lead in the first 25 minutes with goals from Morrison, Tim Shelley, Murray Fotheringham and new boy Ali Addison, before Belper pulled one back.
Hooper made it 5-1 before Belper scored another penalty corner but there was to be no resurrgence and two goals from David Brogden saw Doncaster home in style.
The team travel to Sheffield Hallam for an evening game knowing that victory will see them maintain their position at the top of the table.
