The final two fighters will win contracts to fight on the main Glory shows, often staged world wide.

Matt will be traveling down today for the official weigh ins and press interviews. Centre owner Paul Powers said: “Our gym has been lucky enough to produce many champions, including two world champions, but this could take Matt and our gym to a new level.

“This has been a team effort and all his sparring partners and coaches are very proud of Matt and will be there on the day to support him.

“Matt once said to me his goal was to fight on a Glory show, well he’s just one step away from it.

“Matt’s actually the least experienced of the eight fighters so he’s got nothing to lose, but I’m sure he will do Sheffield proud.”
