Sheffield karate club wins 28 medals in world championships

Sheffield Dragons brought home a magnificent total of 28 medals from karate’s biggest ever world championship.

More than 145 national teams, over 8000 competitors and 40, 000 spectators were at the event in Massa, Italy.

Sheffield won seven gold medals, seven silver and 14 bronzes.

The Dragons roll of honour was -

Grace Smelt: 1 gold 1 silver 1 bronze.

Chloe Flower: 2 gold 3 silver.

Louie Anson: 2 gold 1 silver 3 bronze.

Alicia Anson: 1 gold 1 silver 1 bronze.

Faith Carr: 2 bronze.

Elliott Cox: 1 bronze.

Elle Fisher: 1 silver 1 gold.

Jack Flower: 1 bronze

Benjamin Spencer: 1 gold 1 bronze

Mitchell Duncan: 3 bronze.

Fellow Dragons Lennon Slater-Rooker and Josh Coxgave great performances without placing.
