Olympian Julie Page made a winning return for Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters as they powered their way to a third league win of the season.
Page had a debut to remember, with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and three spectacular blocked shots as Hatters beat Brixton Topcats 94-58 at All Saints in the Women’s British Basketball League
Having starred for the Sheffield outfit three seasons ago when she poured in more than 16 points per game and racked up more than eight boards per game, the 32-year-old is back with the treble-winners and after more silverware.
Page featured for Manchester Mystics last year in the inaugural WBBL season.
A former British Basketball player of the year and with vast experience from across Europe and major tournaments such as EuroBasket Women and the 2012 London Olympics, Page will bring top level quality and experience to the table.
Steph Gandy and Helen Naylor netted 17 points apiece.
Hatters made a fast start as they made a 15-4 opening, and never looked back in a convincing performance.
Sheffield’s lead was at nine points at the end of the opening period, but briefly grew to 20 points in the second as they went into the half-time break with a commanding advantage, the winning margin was 36 points as Sheffield improved to a 3-1 mark in the Championship to leave them a win behind the top three.
