Gandy leads way in big Sheffield Hatters victory

Hatters star Steph Gandy top scored with 27 points in the convincing 45-point success, while Georgia Gayle continued her strong start to the season with 15 points.

There was further scoring support from Brittany Winborne and Naomi Campbell, as they added 14 points apiece in the win.

Sheffield moved ahead to earn a 21-16 advantage after the opening period before breaking clear by holding the visitors to just two points in the second.

The gap was 25 points at the half and the Hatters extended their advantage in the third after racking up a further 28 points to maintain their firm control.

The home side also won the final quarter as they wrapped up the win to improve to 2-1 in the league.

Tricia Oakes top scored for Pride with 14 points as the league newcomers still await their first win of the season.
