Chesterfield ace hits back to become English table tennis champion for third year

Chesterfield’s Liam Pitchford recovered from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Paul Drinkhall 4-3 and retain his English national singles crown at Redbridge, Essex.

This is the third consecutive year that Pitchford has lifted the winner’s trophy.

He also claimed the men’s doubles title in partnership with Drinkhall.

Warwickshire’s Kelly Sibley triumphed 4-2 against Tin-Tin Ho in the women’s singles to claim her fifth crown.
