WHILST Lee Westwood held onto his No 1 spot, new World Matchplay champion Ian Poulter has leapt from 22nd to 14th in the latest world rankings.

Tiger Woods has dropped to 12th - his lowest position since April 1997 - after going 18 months without a tournament victory. He was eighth last week.

Latest leading positions: 1 Westwood, 2 Luke Donald, 3 Martin Kaymer, 4, Phil Mickelson, 5 Graeme McDowell, 6 Rory McIlroy.

Sheffield’s Danny Willett has dropped outside the top 100. Yorkshire’s Simon Dyson is at 88.

Meanwhile, Donald is leading the European Tour’s Race to Dubai money list this year with £1.6million. South African Charl Schwartzel is second with £1.47m followed by Kaymer, £1.12m.

Westwood is sixth with £626,000, then Poulter, £614,000 and McIlroy is 10th with £592,000.
