SUCCESS on his first appearance for England has earned top young amateur golfer Joe Dean a dream spot in the Dutch Open alongside Europe’s leading professionals.
The 18-year-old from Killamarsh can look forward to teeing off in the KLM Dutch Open in September which is part of the European Tour.
Joe earned automatic entry by winning the Junior Holland Open, doing so via a play-off.
He had been selected for England’s Junior Team for the first time and helped the four-man England squad win the team event.
His rounds of 71, 73, 72 and 71 for a two under par total of 217, earned a play-off with a Dutch player and Joe won it at the second extra hole.
It earned an invitation into the Dutch Open at Hilversum alongside European Tour professionals... “it’s a really big thing to get into something like that and I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.
Joe plays out of Lindrick GC and is also a member at Renishaw Park GC. He is doing sports studies at Doncaster’s Balby Carr College.
