LEWIS Hollingworth won the Sheffield Union Amateur Strokeplay Championship after a sudden death play-off.
The Tankersley Park youngster had finished on 142, level with Wath GC’s Gary Fullwood at Hillsborough GC, and he then took the title in the play-off.
Hollingworth had led with a 71 after the first round and repeated that score in the second round.
Fullwood, trailing by a stroke at halfway, produced a best of the day 70, one under par, to force the play-off.
For Fullwood, it was another near miss after finishing third recently in the Sheffield Union Open Championship.
In third place, six shots back on 148, was Simon Toplis (73, 75) followed by James Gregg of Abbeydale on 149 (77, 72).
