Danny Willett will be out to continue his superb form in the KLM Open in Holland, starting today.

The Sheffield golfer finished just two shots off eventual winner David Lipsky at the European Masters in Switzerland last weekend.

His tied for fifth place finish was a new high point for Willett on his strong run since the disappointment of failing to make the cut at The Open in July – the first time in 2014 he had exited a tournament following the second round.

Cards of -6 and -7 in his final two rounds saw the 26-year-old surge up the leaderboard to claim €89,010 in prize money.

Rising star Matt Fitzpatrick will also compete at the KLM Open after receiving an invitation from sponsors.

Fitzpatrick – who failed to make the cut at the European Masters – has been playing on the Challenge Tour as he bids for a European Tour card for 2015.

The Hallamshire Golf Club member turned professional this year following the US Open in June.
