MEMBERS of the Bawtry Golf Club helped raised more than £4,500 for Parkinson’s Disease Research.
Steve Prime and Riley South, who first met at a tournament in Lincoln last year, discovered that they were both members of the Bawtry Club and both had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the previous two years.
They decided to organise a Charity Golf Day at the Bawtry course and following the success of the initial event, which attracted 112 players in 28 teams, they hope it will become an annual fixture on the Doncaster sporting scene.
“The day was a great success, though the weather could have been better,” said Steve, whose firm, Prime Engineering, supported the event.
“The course was in top class condition with the greens being particularly fast.”
