MATT PHILLIPS scored twice on his full debut for Sheffield United tonight and substitute Lee Williamson rattled in another brace as the Blades won 4-2 at Preston North End.
Phillips, on loan from nearby Blackpool, took just four minutes to find the net for the Blades, in the League One Roses clash, at Deepdale.
And while Preston-born defender Clark Carlisle levelled on 29 minutes, Phillips struck again, ten minutes later.
However United were not having it all their own way.
And former Barnsley striker Iain Hume levelled after 63 minutes.
It was a see-saw game though and Danny Wilson’s decision to throw ex Millers’ midfielder Williamson into the mix turned up trumps when the 29-year-old put the Blades 3-2 up.
He added another with three minutes remaining, to seal the points.
Sheffield Utd starting X1 and bench; Simonsen, Lowton, Collins, Maguire, Williams, Montgomery, McDonald, Quinn, M Phillips, Porter, Clarke.
Substitutes: Long, Lescinel, Williamson, Evans, Cresswell.
