Barnsley won last season’s Oakwell clash 2-0 but manager Nigel Pearson knows his side are in much better shape this time around as they look to extend a 14-match unbeaten run: “I think we’ve developed as a team (since their last visit),” said Pearson.
“I think as a side we’ve evolved, we’ve added to the squad and have better balance.
“Really what happened last year is behind us now.
“We’ve got to look forward and make sure that our performances from here on in reflect the standards that we’ve set so far.
“It’s another club that we’ve not done very well against, especially away from home in recent years, so I think it’s important for us to go into this game with the same sort of mentality that we’ve approached most games this season, and that is to get our own game right.”
Leicester are five points clear of second -placed Burnley and 134 in front of Derby in third.
