Sheffield FC came from a goal down to beat ten-man Market Drayton Town 3-1 at Dronfield.
Boss Ian Whitehorne handed a full debut to former Sheffield United, Rotherham and Chesterfield goalkeeper Jamie Annerson, while another newcomer striker Zeph Thomas came off the bench to score the late third that sealed the points.
It started badly when Yannick Makota nodded the visitors in front from a fourth minute corner.
Drayton were reduced to ten men just before the interval as Kyle Blake was show a red card for raising his arms against Andy Gascoigne, who equalised in the first minute of the second half.
Mark Fereday edged Sheffield in front and turned provider for the third seven minutes from time unselfishly teeing up Thomas to tuck home from close range.
Stocksbridge Park Steels 5-1 at home to Nantwich Town who picked up their first away points.
Steels dominated the first 45 minutes and should had been well out of sight before the visitor’s equaliser a minute before the break.
Matt Telling on his return from suspension gave Steels a 13th minute lead with a cracking volley. Twice the home side hit the woodwork, while Ben Turner had an effort scramble off the line as Nantwich struggled to get out of their own half. But on the stroke of half time against the run of play Aaron Burns got in behind the defence for the equaliserand Steels went to pieces in the second half.
