Can Swallownest MW complete an Arsenal “Invincibles” season in the County Senior League?

They are unbeaten to date and have added another couple of victories to their tally, beating Dinnington Town 1-0 in midweek and following up with a 3-0 win over High Green Villa at the weekend.

They have four matches in hand of Premier Division leaders Athersley Rec, who could only manage a 1-1 draw at Oughtibridge.

Dinnington got back to winning ways with their 2-1 result against Sheffield FC, and Millmoor Juniors came from behind to beat Ecclesfield Red Rose 3-1 with strikes from Gavin Allott 2 and Sam Helliwell.

Handsworth continued their domination of Division One, slamming Wickersley 7-1 with Nat Reed grabbing a hat-trick.

Worsbrough Bridge earned bragging rights in the village with a 6-3 win over neighbours Worsbrough Common, Wayne Lloyd rattling in a four-timer.

Sean Waller also had his shooting-boots on as Sheffield Athletic beat Silkstone United 3-0, all knocked in by the lively Waller.

Millmoor Juniors Reserves completed a club double when hammering Boynton Sorts 4-0 in Division Two, in which all three clubs battling for promotion each won,

Clowne Villa beat Sheffield Bankers by the odd goal in five, Swinton Station registered a 4-1 win over De La Salle, all four from Mark Claie, and Sheffield Parramore hammered Thorncliffe 5-0 with four goals from Aaron Martin.

This Thursday sees the first of the County Senior league cup semi-finals when High Green Villa meet Sheffield FC at Athersley Rec (7.30).

The second semi is on Thursday, march 31 when Athersley Rec face Houghton Main at Penistone Church (7.30).

The final is at Stocksbridge Park Steels on Thursday, April 14.

Rotherham United Ladies scored two late goals to win the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA Women’s Cup Final, beating Huddersfield Town 2-0 at Stocksbridge yesterday.
