England Women's captain Steph Houghton is hoping a big home support can help drive the Lionesses to victory at the AESSEAL New York Stadium on Friday (7.55pm).
Houghton and her team mates welcome Belgium to Rotherham United's home ground, aiming to add another 'W' in a tally that has remained unbroken at home for three years, for the latest match in their Uefa Women's Euro 2017 qualifying campaign
“We can’t wait to play at home again in front of our supporters and to be back up north again," she said. "Belgium will be one of our toughest games in this campaign but hopefully we’ll get a good win and take another step towards qualification.
“We had such a fantastic turn out for our last match and we hope that as many of our supporters as possible come and cheer us on against Belgium."
Steph added: "On Friday night, there will be a lot of people able to come who wouldn't have been able to make it down to Wembley. It's important to go around the country and meet different supporters."
Meanwhile, one-time World Cup final referee and Rotherham United fan Howard Webb has called on everyone in South Yorkshire to show their support for the Lionesses.
He said: “I’d urge anyone to come down and watch some great athletes playing some great football and hopefully continuing that great start to their qualifiers.”
Tickets for the match are also on general on sale now priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children) is available at £10
