South Yorkshire Quartet miss out on big boys

editorial image

editorial image

ALL four South Yorkshire clubs missed out on plum draws in the third round of the FA Cup.

Sheffield Wednesday have been drawn at home to League One promotion contenders MK Dons while Barnsley, hovering just two points above the Championship relegation zone, entertain Burnley.

Sheffield United will travel to either Accrington Stanley or Oxford United. Stanley boast James Beattie in their ranks while Oxford’s manager, Chris Wilder, started his playing career at Bramall Lane.

Rotherham United’s reward, if they can beat Notts County in a replay, is a trip to Aldershot Town.

Doncaster Rovers and Chesterfield were knocked out last weekend.
