SHEFFIELD Wednesday will meet a Wolverhampton Wanderers side on Saturday still smarting from a 6-0 League Cup third-round hiding last night.

While the Owls have their own disappointment to get over after yesterday’s defeat at Southampton, Wolves were utterly humiliated.

Their manager, Ståle Solbakken, had rested almost his entire team, with only midfielder Slawomir Peszko keeping his place - which showed how he views the Capital One tournament.

Dronfield-born defender Gary Cahill had started the rout with a goal on four minutes, followed by efforts from Ryan Bertrand, Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu, Fernando Torres and Victor Moses.

Leeds United go into the hat for the fourth round after a 2-1 win over Everton.
