GARY Megson will aim to land a goalkeeper of experience within the next 24 hours.
The Sheffield Wednesday manager has been forced to act after Nicky Weaver was sidelined for at least a month due to a groin injury.
The Owls boss went with untried Richard O’Donnell at Southampton on Saturday but Megson has been busy striving to plug the gap and will bring someone in who has league experience as Wednesday embark on the fight to stay away from the League One relegation zone.
Megson wants it sorted as soon as possible so he can get down to work on the training ground with the new keeper and integrate him with new central defenders Rob Jones and Danny Batth who, like O’Donnell, made their debuts on Saturday.
The fact that the Tranmere game scheduled for tonight was called off may turn out to be something of a blessing for Megson and the Owls as it gives them extra time to get a new man in.
