VIDEO: We win together, we lose together - Carlos Carvalhal after Sheffield Wednesday defeat to Leeds United

Carlos Carvalhal refused to point to individuals after Sheffield Wednesday fell to a 1-0 defeat at Elland Road to promotion rivals Leeds United

A mistake at the back in which Vincent Sasso appeared to duck out of a Gaetano Berardi cross, gifted a goal for top scorer Chris Wood in a game of few chances.

Wednesday rallied after the break but when given a route back into the game after Sam Hutchinson went down in the box, Jordan Rhodes was denied from the spot by Rob Green.

It proved to be two big incidents that on the face of it cost Wednesday, but Carvalhal maintained that the team lose and win collectively.

"We didn't come here to try to protect our goal and achieve on the counter attack. We tried to ply out football and I think we did well. Keiren Westwood didn't have much to do and one mistake that we did, Leeds scored the goal."

He added: "After this there were positives, we tried and tried, achieved a penalty and had a few chances before that but we missed the penalty.

"That we didn't win wasn't becasue we didn't try, because we didbn't fight or create chances, it was circumstances in the game. We missed a penalty, that is a part of the game. We win together and lose together and the responsibility is mine."
