VIDEO: "There were some boos and rightly so" - The Star's Dom Howson gives his view on Sheffield Wednesday 1 Ipswich Town 2

The Star's Sheffield Wednesday writer Dom Howson said the Owls players were deservedly jeered off the pitch following their 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at Hillsborough.

Even after Gary Hooper cancelled out Tom Lawrence's opener for the visitors, Wednesday huffed and puffed and following a short period of pressure from Mick McCarthy's men near the end, the visitors grabbed a winner through Luke Chambers.

It was a poor all round display 'by their standards' and 'not good enough' as Dom says, with our man adding that the Tractor Boys could have even ended up with more near the end.

"In the second half Ipswich finished stronger and could have won by more," said Dom. "Wednesday will be disappointed by the second half showing. By their very high standards they weren't on top of their game, created and fashioned few opportunities. Apart from Gary Hooper's shot and a Steven Fletcher header, Wednesday didn't create much in the final third.

"There were some boos at the final whistle and you have to say, rightly so. Wednesday have raised the bar in Carlos Carvalha;ls time and that simply wasn't up to scratch and wasn't good enough."
