Birmingham City manager Lee Clark had no complaints after their 4-1 thrashing at Sheffield Wednesday.

Goals from Caolan Lavery (2), Leon Best and an own goal by Will Packwood condemned the Blues to a heavy away defeat. Lee Novak grabbed a late consolation but the result leaves Clark’s side hovering perilously close to the Championship relegation zone.

“All the adjectives: disappointed, frustrated, angry, worried because as good as we were on Wednesday evening against a very good Burnley team, we were poor,” he said.

“That’s not taking anything away from Stuart (Gray’s) team; they were really good.

“We just didn’t play with any tempo, intensity. We were flat, it looked like our efforts on Wednesday took a toll on us.

“We were happy with how it went on Wednesday against Burnley so we wanted to give the players another chance, but I think they were just shattered.”
