Sheffield Wednesday's unbeaten run came crashing to an end with a 3-1 defeat to struggling Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
Goals by Johnnie Jackson, Simon Makienok and Reza Ghoochannejhad were on target and while Fernando Forestieri's fifth goal of the season offered some hope for the Owls it turned out to be a mere consolation on a day to forget for Carlos Carvalhal's men.
The head coach said: "It was not about complacency, it was about the lack of energy. Players could not deal with it. It can happen.
"No one can control this kind of thing. It was a bad day for us but congratulations to Charlton."
