Gray has made the point that the Owls have never been a one-man team, and in recent weeks he has been well off for strikers, with Leon Best, Benik Afobe, Atdhe Nuhiu, Caolan Lavery and Chris Maguire his options.
But the club have not really had anyone who has been able to match the sort of impact that Wickham made with his eight goals and talent.
