Owls: Sheffield Wednesday news, reports and more with The Star.

SHEFFIELD Wednesday have confirmed that 800 additional seats for Owls fans have been freed up for the Steel City derby against Sheffield United next month.

Following talks with the local Safety Advisory Group, seats not normally in use in the North Stand and South Stand at Hillsborough will be sold.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday, January, 30, at 9am and can be purchased in person only at the Owls Megastore on a first come, first served basis.

Supporters buying the additional tickets for this game must be on the SWFC database and tickets will be limited to four per person.

Due to the limited number of seats, there will be no telephone or online sale.

Initial tickets for the League 1 clash on February 26 sold out to home supporters earlier this week.

In their relegation season in the Premier (just the one season mind) where did all the 1000's of pig fans appear from then, and then dwindle away to 15-16000 Another season in League one and they'll be down to bare bones again. Tosseurs

Mancpig You seem to be such an expert on Wednesday's crowds that you forgot to mention that season Wednesday only sold tickets to members and not the general public.

Please do stop going on about selling out. Its just how this fixture has fell in the business part of the season. Cast your mind back to 20022003 season when you got 27075 for the game. I dont know any other derby in the UK where the home team would have approx 12k of unslod home tickets left. Oh, and we beat youre the attendance in the return fixture so get a grip! Even your own fans are moaning about armchair fans buying your tickets!
