Owls star Ross Wallace has been named in the Football League Team of the Week following his match-winning performance against Fulham.
The winger created Wednesday’s three goals as Carlos Carvalhal’s men edged a pulsating Championship clash at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Wallace, on target in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town last month, said: “It was good for me to get three assists from set-pieces. When you’ve got the likes of Turner, Lees and Attey [Nuhiu] in the box, it is easy for me as I just have to put it in a decent area and these boys attack it well.”
Defensive duo Michael Turner and Daniel Pudil, meanwhile, have been granted permission by their parents clubs to take part in the Owls’ Capital One Cup tie at Newcastle United on Wednesday. Turner and Pudil are on season long-loan deals from Norwich City and Watford respectively.
Owls’ Under-21s crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Charlton Athletic this afternoon. Cameron Dawson and out-of-favour Darryl Lachman were among those to be given run-outs in the development match, which was goalless at half-time.
