Wednesday are bent on holding up Leicester’s promotion celebrations as they target a league double against Nigel Pearson’s pace-setters.
The Foxes, who were beaten 2-1 at Hillsborough, need six points to seal a Premier League spot regardless of other results and they face the Owls tonight and Brighton at home on Tuesday.
But Stuart Gray said: “It’s a great challenge, We’re definitely going to the champions of the Championship.
“We want to maybe spoil their party. We had a good win against them at our place. I’m sure Nigel will be reminding them.
“They’ve won the most games, they’ve got the best squad, they’ve got the most goals.
“But it will be a good game for us to bounce back after the disappointment of last Saturday (the 4-1 home defeat by Watford).
“One thing I do know if that against Leicester we’ll be more competitive, we’ll be in their faces. It’s a great challenge.
“It’s one not to fear; it’s one for my players to put themselves into one v one battles again and come out on top.
“We showed unbelievable quality against Leicester (at Hillsborough). It allowed me to say to the players: ‘That’s the bar you’ve set’; let’s not drop below it.’ And we went on a decent run. Credit to the players.
“We’re the underdogs. But we look forward to the challenge.”
Leicester, 16 points clear of third-placed QPR, could be promoted this weekend if they beat Wednesday and other results then go their way. But Pearson says it is a “potentially tough” game tonight.
