Owls striker Gary Hooper has been shortlisted for January's Championship Player of the Month award.
The 28-year-old, brought in for £3m from Norwich City before the transfer deadline day, netted five goals last month, including braces in Hillsborough wins over Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United.
Hooper, formerly of Scunthorpe United and Celtic, has found the back of the net seven times in 16 appearances since joining Wednesday in October.
He was initially signed on loan but his impressive form prompted the Owls to sign him on a permanent basis the day before their trip to Reading.
Hooper faces strong competition for the prize, with Hull City's Abel Hernandez, Birmingham's Maikel Kieftenbeld and Burnley's Ben Mee also in contention for the award.
