Dave Jones confirmed today that Reda Johnson will captain the Owls while Anthony Gardner is out injured.

The Owls boss said that the left back is a senior player who is vocal on the pitch and one of the players who have matured the most during his time as manager.

Gardner expects to be out for between four and six months after his Achilles tendon operation.

Jones also said that midfield players Seyi Olofinjana and Stephen McPhail and striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher continue to train with the club.

The manager hinted that loan defender Roger Johnson will not play against Yeovil tomorrow before the Owls get him “up and running” and sharpen his fitness.

Miguel Llera - set to play against Yeovil - has revealed that other clubs wanted him recently but he elected to stay and fight for his place.

Wednesday have agreed that young attacking midfield player Manny Dieseruvwe can join Hyde United on a month’s loan.
