Sheffield Wednesday have today bolstered their midfield department by capturing Watford’s Lewis McGugan on loan.
The 26-year-old is set to stay at Hillsborough until January 1 and could make his Owls debut in Saturday’s televised clash at Huddersfield Town.
The Star understands Wednesday tried to sign McGugan earlier this month but Watford blocked the deal. McGugan has played just seven times for the Hornets this season.
Regarded as a set piece specialist, McGugan started his career at Nottingham Forest, making over 200 appearances in a seven-year stint at the City Ground, hitting 44 goals.
He moved to Watford in July 2013 where he continued his fine strike rate, notching 11 goals in 37 outings last season, including a strike in Watford’s 4-1 triumph at Wednesday.
