JOSE Semedo is keeping his sights on a dream promotion double.
He wants Wednesday and former club Charlton to go up together.
The midfield star called some of his old Addicks mates to congratulate them after their promotion was sealed.
“I spoke to a few players. They are there because they deserve it,” he said. “I really hope we are playing them next season.”
But Semedo’s priority has always been the Wednesday cause and he has been a key man in their campaign.
He insists that the Owls are trying to put the possible permutations of the promotion battle with United to the back of their minds as they prepare to face play-off contenders Carlisle today.
“We don’t really talk about promotion; we just talk about the next game,” he said. “Our form has been fantastic. I hope we can carry on with that. We just want to do our jobs game by game.”
He believes that today’s clash could be a cracker: “I think Carlisle will come to give it a go, as we will. They are a good team. Both teams want three points. I think it will be a good atmosphere and a beautiful game.”
Semedo has been skipper while Rob Jones has been out of the 11. The Portuguese ace said: “To be captain of this massive club is amazing and something I will never forget.”
