Sheffield Wednesday today signed Kamil Zayatte - 24 hours after Dave Jones said the deal would not happen.
But the manager’s remarks yesterday could have put pressure on the player’s camp, which has been followed by him signing a two-year contract.
Jones also said yesterday that until the centre half sorted out a problem with agents, the club could do nothing.
The Owls boss was keen to land the former Hull centre half who has played three games in pre-season and looked impressive.
His signing is subject to international clearance.
Zayatte, aged 28, is a free-transfer arrival after leaving Turkish club Istanbul BB.
