Wednesday have two entries in a national Goal of the Season competition.
Winger Jack Stobbs and midfielder Jack Taylor are among 14 nominations in the contest run by League Football Education, the body that supervises apprentices’ education.
Stobbs, who broke into the Owls’ first-team set-up towards the end of the campaign, has been recognised for a delightful effort in the FA Youth Cup 4-1 defeat away to Chelsea in January.
From a free-kick, the 17-year-old sent a side-footed lob dipping over the keeper.
Taylor, 18, has been nominated for a fine strike in the home FA Youth Cup game against Crystal Palace in December.
From 22 yards at Hillsborough’s Kop end, he drilled a shot into the top corner.
Stobbs was among the other scorers in the Palace game, a 4-4 draw that was won by the Owls on penalties.
Votes are cast by going on on to the League Football Education website, lfe.org.uk. The poll closes at noon on Friday.
Stobbs has issued an appeal on Twitter, saying: “Could everyone please vote for me in Goal of the season, would be very much appreciated.”
The LFE site has videos of all the nominated goals, and the other contenders are from Swindon, MK Dons, Southend, Oxford, Morecambe, Ipswich, Blackpool (2), Watford, Lincoln, QPR, and Leicester.
