Ipswich striker David McGoldrick will face the Owls tomorrow as the Championship Player of the Month for September, after his award was confirmed today.
The former Wednesday loan forward scored four goals in the month, and his manager Mick McCarthy said: “We’re delighted to see David pick up this award. It’s well deserved.
“He was excellent for us last season when he joined on loan. But he has stepped up another level this year.
“What I like about him is that he’s not happy with how he played on Tuesday night (in a 4-4 draw at Derby).
“Well I thought he had a great first half. That’s nice when he’s won that and is still not happy with how he’s played.”
McGoldrick spent a month on loan at Hillsborough two years ago when he was a Forest player, and he joined Ipswich fully from the City Ground club this summer.
