Two former Sheffield Wednesday defenders enjoyed knocking their old club out of the FA Cup.
Centre-backs Richard Wood and Michael Morrison helped Charlton Athletic clinch a battling 2-1 win at Hillsborough on Monday night.
Wood, given a standing ovation by the Owls faithful when substituted in the closing minutes of the fifth round tie, made over 180 appearances in all competitions for the South Yorkshire club while Morrison had an undistinguished spell back in 2011.
Charlton boss Chris Powell, who celebrated their victory by swinging from the crossbar, said: “Richard [Wood] was captain here a number of years back. I knew this game meant a lot to him. Michael had a stint here. It wasn’t the best times for him but since he’s come to Charlton he has been a real stalwart. He has been excellent.
“It was big for them and big for everyone connected with Charlton because we now find ourselves in the last eight.”
